Policing Connections: Atlantic Histories and Global Perspectives
PUC-Rio – 19 and 21 june 2017
The seminar “Policing Connections: Atlantic Histories and Global Perspectives” will take place on the campus of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) between 19 and 21 June 2017. An international meeting that aims to bring together researchers who develop work on international networks and transnational policing practices, with a special focus on the Atlantic World. Besides the invited speakers, the organizers of this meeting intend to select papers from PhD Students and Postdoctoral Fellows to present their works in this meeting. Among the topics that the organizers would like to see discussed include:
– Transnational circulation of police models.
– Transnational and international dissemination of techniques of identification and criminal investigation.
– International practices of crime control.
– Surveillance networks and transnational policing strategies.
Proposals should be sent to conexoespoliciais@gmail.com with an abstract of 500 words maximum and a short biographical note until 10th April 2017.
